Hello!

A very warm welcome back to a brand new, shiny academic year! As always, we have an exciting year planned. It will be crammed full of new learning opportunities where the children will gain knowledge through our ambitious and varied curriculum.

My name is Mrs Young, and I am going to be the class teacher in Beatrix Potter class 24/25. I will be supported by Mrs Humberstone. I am very much looking forward to getting to know you all and excited to begin a new academic year with a new team!

Our PE session will be on a Tuesday afternoon so please ensure your child has a PE kit in school (don’t forget trainers as we may use outdoor space or need them for the hall). If you could leave the PE kit in school that would be ideal as the timetable is subject to change.

I will upload a termly overview which sets out our learning for that term. I have uploaded some useful reading lists for both year 1 and year 2. It is vital that the children read at home as much as possible- this helps to ensure good progress across the whole curriculum. Books will be sent home on a Thursday- please read this every day with your child and spend some time asking questions to prompt discussion.

Please ensure children have weather appropriate clothing sent in each day (coats, sunhats etc). The good old British weather often means we have a very varied outlook for the week!
