Week 10 Daily updates from Mrs Ellis and Mrs Greening

Monday 15th June

Good morning Class 1. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and I was so happy to see the sun shining, it makes such a difference doesn't it! The home learning plans and resources are now on the website, so I hope you find everything you are looking for. Remember I'm in school today teaching, so if you need to speak to me about anything please call the office. I have posted a new story for this week which Matilda picked out from the selection I had from school. If I remember, I will choose some more to take home with me this week. Let me know if you have any special requests.

Last week the children in class were singing 'I Am The Earth' song which we used to play after lunch time, do you remember? So I have posted it on our website for you to sing along too, as I know how much you loved it. Finally I have also posted information about a 'Summer Reading Challenge'which looks like so much fun.

I hope you are all well and remember to keep smiling.

Take care and have a great Monday.

Mrs Ellis

Tuesday 16th June

Good morning Class 1. I hope you all managed to find the home learning on the website and the resources that were attached. We had a lovely day yesterday in class and had lots of wonderful conversations about our weekends and how busy we have been. My day was made even better when Jack and Thomas came to show me some of their wonderful writing.... it was amazing, thank you boys. I'm loving seeing all your home learning pictures and hearing about what you have been up too, so thank you very much for those.

Have any of you managed to sing along to 'The Earth Song' yet? We couldn't play it in school yesterday as the internet wasn't working but I'm hoping it will be all back up and running today so we can have a good sing along.

Mrs Gooding sent out a letter yesterday about more children returning to school and I'm SO SO happy that the Year 2s are now on the list. We have missed you all terribly and can't wait for you to be back in the classroom with your friends.

I hope you all have a great Tuesday.

Mrs Ellis

Wednesday 17th June

Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a good day yesterday. We worked super hard in class yesterday. We managed to do lots of Phonics, Maths, Writing based on Supertato and even created our own super vegetable in the afternoon. We also have a new friend in Class 1 now called Issac, who can't wait to meet you all. We're so excited to have the Year 2s back next week, but remember if any of you are feeling nervous or just want to chat about things please give us a call.

Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday.

Mrs Ellis

Thursday 18th June

Morning everyone! I’ve really enjoyed seeing all the work you are doing and I am really looking forward to meeting the year 2 s next week and sharing all the work they have been doing at home.  Mrs Ellis and I have been really missing our class.

We have had some tremendous rainstorms in my village this week, how about you ? Our grass is finally no longer brown and all the plants are really happy.  So I thought it was time for another funny book so I’ve popped another story by Peter Bently (he wrote the Great Dog Bottom Swap) on our stories page.  ‘The Great Sheep Shenanigans. I hope you enjoy it?

Have a lovely day.  Mrs Greening

Friday 19th June

Morning Class 1!  I was in school today looking after the keyworker children and Mrs Raine showed me the year 2 children returning to school next week so far. I am so excited and don’t worry I have run through a few of the activities with Isla and Woody and they gave me a thumbs up – phew!  I ‘ve seen all the great work on the walls that the year 1 s have been doing too!

Unfortunately, our school lines were accidentally cut and so I couldn’t call anyone or receive calls today, but it won’t be long before it’s up and running again, sadly no Wi-Fi so it meant no TTrockstars for the year 2s today who are getting really good at it.  In the meantime, all the home learning packs are printed for next week and we will load them on at the weekend with……….another quiz.  I shall delve into my bookshelf again this weekend for another story or maybe some of my awful jokes!

I hope you all have a super Friday, miss you all Mrs Greening
