Our central topic for this term is 'Sound'.
We will be looking to develop our knowledge of the sources of sound; looking in depth at how sound travels and what happens to the pitch of a sound when the waves alter in size and shape. We will investigate, using our scientific skills, ways to absorb sound and which materials are most suited to this role. We will also look to design and make our own musical instrument through junk modelling!
This term in Geography we will be centering our learning on Europe. Having already looked closely at continents and countries, we wil refresh our minds and develop them further in understanding how Europe looks, which countries are situated within Europe and what languages, lifestyles and weather patterns occur in these countries. We will also be developing our Geographical skills by looking at compass points and grid references.
In music this term we will be learning about notation and how to read music through playing the recorder. We are lucky enough to have a visitor from outside of school who will come and teach us this for two terms!
This term in R.E, as well as focusing on our value of Friendship, we will be learning about the Holy Trinity and how Christians believe that God exists in three forms, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We will look at the connections between this and baptism and the symbolic importance of this occasion for Christians.
This term we will be performing our class production 'The Tudor Rose' on the Wednesday 25th March 2020 at 2pm and 6pm. Please do come and enjoy!
Reading & Times Tables!
I ask that all children have an opportunity at some point during time at home to read to an adult and also to listen to an adult read. In addition, please make sure you are helping your child to learn their times tables and weekly spellings outside of school. We do everything we can in the classroom, but any extra support is a brilliant way to help make progress in these areas!
