Happy New Year!
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are as excited as we are to begin this new year. This term we are starting off with our learn to learn value - Respect and teaching the children that other people's feelings matter. We will also be teaching our Christian Value of Friendship. Our main topic this term will be Location, Location, Location, where the children will learn about the countries of the UK, their characteristics and capital cities, use simple maps of the local area and many more exciting things. As writers we will be writing our own stories and poems. As Scientists we will be continuing to learn about the four seasons and using our observational skills across the year to test and predict the changes. As Artists we will be learning how to print using objects and creating various patterns along the way. In Music the children will be learning how music can represent the different countries in the UK.
PE this term will continue to be on a Tuesday and Thursday but please can your child have their PE kit in school every day.
Please look out for our knowledge organisers in the next couple of weeks, which will focus on what the children should know by the end of the term and a range of key vocabulary to help them through their learning journey.
We look forward to seeing you all on the playground at 8.40 and hearing all about your fantastic Christmas holiday.
